Before We Start, Gather Your Tools! 🧰
Here’s what you’re gonna need to hang the mount on the walls:
- Onn Full Motion TV Wall Mount
- Stud finder (only if your walls are drywall)
- Level
- Power drill
- Drill bits
- Screwdriver 🪛
- Measuring tape
- Pencil ✏️
The Onn Wall mount box already has everything else you need! It comes with the mount, mounting screws with washers, an Allen key, and anchors. Onn’s got you covered with all the stuff you need to get your wall mount hanging perfectly!
Step 1: Picking the Perfect Spot for Your TV!
First off, you gotta decide where you want your TV. 🤔 Think about where everyone can see it, where it’s comfy to watch, and where it fits best in your room.
Step 2: Setting Up the Wall Plate!
Your wall mount has 2 main parts: a wall plate and a TV bracket. The wall plate is all ready to go, but you might need to put the TV bracket together before attaching it to your screen.
Don’t worry if you’re not sure which piece is which! They’re all in the box, and the manual (also in the box) will help you figure it out! There’s even a mounting template with all the measurements you need.
For Wooden Walls:
🚨 Warning: Don’t use a 10×50 mm Anchor for wood walls!
- Find the Studs: After picking the perfect spot for your TV, use a stud finder to find the studs in the walls. This helps your TV stay safely on the wall.
- Mark the Spot: Place the template in the center of the studs and mark 3 spots with your pencil.
- Drill Holes: Drill 3 holes using a 5/32” wood drill bit about 2.36” deep.
- Attach the Wall Plate: Use M7x55mm Lag bolts to attach the Wall plate to the wall.
For Stone or Concrete Walls:
🚨 This mount only fits on walls, not ceilings. And the wall needs to be at least 5.5” thick.
- Mark the Spot: Place the template on the wall and mark where you’ll drill the 3 holes.
- Drill Holes: Using a 3/8” Masonry drill bit, drill 3 holes about 2.36” deep.
- Put in the Anchors: Insert 10×50 mm Anchors into the wall and tap them in with a hammer.
- Attach the Wall Plate: Now, use M7x55mm Lag bolts to attach the Wall plate to the wall.
Step 3: Get That Bracket on the TV!
Lay your TV on a soft surface to avoid any scratches. Attach the brackets to the back of the TV, making sure they’re both at the same height. The Onn mount even has clips to keep your cables neat and tidy! 🌟
Step 4: Bring the TV to the Wall!
Alright! Last step! You’ll need a buddy for this one. 🤗 Lift the TV carefully by the corners and hook the bracket onto the wall mount. Secure it with M6 screws. Play around with the angles to find the perfect spot. Plug in your TV, and voila! Movie time! 🍿
